cracked scapula

one week ago today i cracked my scapula. i was helping a friend who accidentally locked his keys in his apartment. it was a really tiny window and i thought i could slide in really quick and grab them and get out.

i got one leg and two arms in and then i was stuck. in a fleeting moment i saw his bed below and thought i’d just push myself through and the bed would catch my fall. the bed did catch my fall, but in the moment i didn’t realize how high the fall was.

so i have been out of working the coffeehouse since and go back this saturday. it’s been really challenging being still and not being able to have my arm’s full rotation. i know it’ll take time and much exercise to get my arm to fully extend as it once did.

i am not afraid. it’s pretty freaky, but that’s part of the experience. my biggest concern is the extended time away from my day job because there is still rent to pay and other grown up responsibilities.

all that to say if anyone wants/can help by purchasing some of my art to help with rent, etc, it would really mean a lot right now. i accept cash app ( $icallmeabcorduroy ) or the good old fashioned cash if you are live locally.

my instagram page is the most up to date archive i have. all prices are negotiable. if you don’t use instagram you can still scroll through and email me at: ( abcorduroy@gmail.com ) about a piece.

well, that’s that.

until the next moment!

endeavor and ever

potatoes for dinner

potatoes for breakfast

my friend, Mark, in Gainesville, Florida posted his daily sigil and some words that said “creativity is a process not a product”, and I keep meditating on this over and over the last couple days. it’s a simple sentence packed with so much wisdom.

i know it to be true and i endeavor to share more and more of my process with all of you.

New Week / New Tracks

I uploaded a new set of songs titled “Radikali Transmissions”.

Hope you’ll give them a listen and let me know your thoughts.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, and Andy Summers. Portland winters makes their music quite the perfect soundtrack for my wandering mind.

Also recently finished watching all five seasons of the scifi “Babylon 5” so it definitely has some of them vibes.

Time to write a grocery list and hopefully art a little bit between making dinner and cleaning up my bedroom.

October

I’ve been slacking on the blogging again.

Not that there is any short of happenings.

The fall colors in Portland, Oregon are absolutely stunning.

I’ve been recording more tracks in Logic Pro and learning how to adjust volumes accordingly for that format.

Still making coffee at Anna Bannanas four days a week. Painting in between.

Making home more homely.

Practicing making more healthy routines is a constant thing.

My 35th birthday is two days away.

Started reading the Mahabharata again. It was gifted to me by my good friend, Kshitij Kumar some time back and I never got through it the first time so making use of the rainy days and reading it to the end this time.

I’ll share some fall pictures later this evening when I am more focused.

I’ve been hearing a lot of music I have never heard before. Thank you Darci and Amando specifically.

Thank you to everyone for their help and support. Large and small. I am grateful for it all.

Fragmented Realities (Rambles of a Madman)

I have been working on making this “poetry” book a reality for almost 4 years now.

I began writing the words and drawing the images between 2016 and 2017 during a very dark and yet enlightening moment of my life. There is a lot to be learned from darkness. There is a lot to learn from the light. It takes all of it to make us a whole.

I believe it is the bridge between the zzzmoments I draw almost constantly and the songs I sing out at rock n roll shows. There is a bridge between symblols and words/language and it is a magical realm to wander into.

I printed 33 copies because I find 33 a magical number and I am 33 years old at the moment.

I am selling them for $30 each and as of this blog post 7 copies have found homes. Limited originals from the book are also available for $50 to anyone interested. (I will post more on that later.)

If you are interested in a copy they will be available when I will be singing and making noise this Friday at No Fun Bar (9pm) and this Sunday at Ranger Station (7pm).

If you do not live in town, comment below, send me an email, reach out to me on social media and we’ll make it work.

I will eventually be selling the books and the original art from the “Fragmented Realities” via my interweb store.

Truthfully it’s been so long since I utilized the .com store that I am in the midst of working out some kinks/links to make it work properly.

I am excited this story. I am excited to play a couple shows this weekend!!

i love entertaining! i love singing! i love creating!

There are many words that I would to say right now.

I need close up this blog post because I need a shower. I need to clean up home. My friend Cody Trespalacios that I have known since 3rd grade is coming to town tomorrow. It will be his first time in Oregon.

Okay my legs are bouncing and it’s hard to focus so it’s time to brew more coffee and shower.

Talk to you soonly fellow earthlings!

lifffe and stuff as of lately

I’m playing singing songs and making noise at The Nest Lounge this Wednesday night from 10 to 10:30pm. If you are in the area I’d love to see you there. Yes… you.

The last two weeks have been a constant go go with very little repose. It all started simmering down yesterday evening. Ashley and I started organizing and cleaning our homebase or as we call it, the foggy lantern.

It’s been fun making a home with Ashley Klump. There is healthy amount of movement of things and it feels a little more hohmy every little shift. I have never really felt this feel before. I guess I’ve never meant a person like Ashley Klump before eyether.

Well I intended to ramble more but I got distracted cleaning out my email of unreads. There is about 6 thousand of them which means a refresh of unsubscribing to things i thought I would read.

I’m looking for more shows to open up for people. I need to walk to the grocery store a few blocks away.

that is all for now fellow earthlings.

be free.

updated interweb store

alfred 19

alfred 19

hi friends.

i wrote a post a moment or so ago about how Tim had helped me fix my laptop and how i was trying to focus on regular posts on this rambling blog.

since then my laptop has crashed again and my main source of interweb is an iPod.

i have a lot i want to ramble about.

i have a short attention span.

i end up drawing it out more often.

well today i sat down and cataloged some of my favorite prints and added them to my site's interweb store

they are a fraction of the prints that i debuted at my first art showing at Vivace last year.

the response from that event was greater than i had imagined it'd be so now i'm officially making these pieces available on the interwebs because everyone should have a friend alfred or two.

i've misplaced my coffee.

i'm going to get off the interweb and go find that.

be free fellow earthlings!

Here

I officially sold 4 pieces from my art showing at Vivace.

That's pretty awesome. That's a first for me. Thank you magic.

It's also good to know the Alfreds will set out into the unknown.

The weather has been quite calming lately.

There's a very steady, cool beeze and it sounds like whispering through the newly bloomed tree leaves.

The following painting is from somewhere in Downtown Portland.

I happened dead in front of her for the first time the other day.

Normally I just admire her from the bus.

I think she's a spectacle worth sharing. I also love the brick building.

Anyway... I must get ready for work now.

Be free fellow Earthlings!

My First Art Showing

after many weeks of preparation I am happy to say that I have a handful of my art on display at Vivace, the coffee shop I work at. I'll be putting more up over the upcoming week.

i've never put art on display like this before. It's truly a dream come true and thank magic for that reality.

normally it's more about the meditaional moment that I share via zzzwalking.com.

seeing a sketchbook drawing converted to a computer file...

then converted to a print that is multiple times the size of the original image...

buying them a frame...

giving those moments names...

that's a lot of work, man. but the process was fun and i plan on doing a lot more of it.

Unframed prints will be available via the interweb store soonly.

but hey! If you live in Portland come check it out!

Be free fellow earthlings!
