In my ongoing quest to find the ultimate coffee shop in Portland, Oregon I happened upon Flying Cat Coffee Shop today. As you probably know my best friend is a black cat thus making this a must check out.
The presentation wasn't try hard like some Portland shops. It was nice; pleasant and simple. Kind of like sitting in your grandma's living room with a restaurant in it. The kind of place you want to get away and get some work done. Not the kind of place you find a lot hipsters trying to impress their friends. There wasn't a lot of people in there when I went, but I presume it's a very family friendly shop.
My coffee was pleasant, but my favorite part was the pastry. They also serve breakfast food and sandwiches but I did not that this go round. Maybe another time, but definitely recommend this shop.
