i took this photo before my eyes fully opened this morning.
i sat up in bed and the sky was brigh and shiny so i snapped a couple shots and got ready for work.
This is my bedside view. life is alright.

October and her fall leaves. October and her follies.
I went for a walk to get out of my head.
I found a bunch of condos that have been built by the waterfront.
i use to (September was one year ago) walk down that way to get to work and it was no man land. just a bunch of abandoned industrial buildings.
Anyway... There's some really cool parts by the water if you jump the little fence and walk down the little path.
A lot of old trash and unstable rubble but cool nonetheless.
All that to say I took some fun selfies of myself.

i went and saw Kurt Vile play at the Crystal Ballroom last night. thank you sarah!
the ground is moist at the moment. the skies are grey.
the leaves are falling exponentially.
a lot of browns.
i focus my eyes on the yellow but the red is intense on the imagination, as well.
the mud slides in California are no joke. keep those folks in your thoughts. it's only October.
what's more strange to me is a lot of people haven't heard about the mud slides that happened there.
5 feet of mud on that highway. ping pong-golf size hail.
why is that not news? who picks the news?
i met some friends that work for a local news channel.
they said they get there news from cnn and ap news.
when they report the news they say "experts say" the poll numbers say _______.
so my question is who do you get your news from?
does it trace back to one of those companies?
just curious...

My friends and I are having an art show / music happenings.
i've shared a lot of the arts via social networkings and i'll do more on that later.
i'm very easily distracted and feel like i've been staring at the screen forever
but then i remember i was staring out the window at the sun coming down on the trees,
those shiny yellow leaves still greatly outnumbered by the green
and smelling the fresh autumn air.
i gotta focus. i have to get on a bus and get to my friend's house to watch this debate.
So yes. Musics!
I've started working on this project with my friend Tim Craft called acorn season.
I got a little snippet? is that a word?
anyway a snippet from a song we wrote called "bucket".
i'll ramble on that soonly, also.
there will be other musics too!
music is a special kind of sanity i can't explain at the moment.
singing songs and sharing art on my favorite holiday!
it's going to be fun!
eek! bus!

A snippet from a 3 song EP in the happening. more info sonly.
I went and listened to Bernie Sanders speak when he was in Portland, Oregon.
I say listened because the NBA gymnasium he spoke in was filled with 19,000 people so I had to join another 8 or 9000 outside.
Blah blah blah numbers.
I've been reluctant to speak about the event on my blog because I needed time to let things summer. Vibe things out.
People are really passionate at those rallies and I'm a skeptic.
Bernie Sanders spoke with genuine conviction.
He called his audience "brother and sisters".
Those people who say if you don't pay your mortgage or student debt that the economy will crash.
Numbers numbers.. Blah blah.
They refer to you as "consumers".
not customers. You are a pawn in a never ending game of a chess or something except there's only so many pieces in chess.
Focusing... I ask you.. All around the world.. Especially in the United States.
watch that debate. I don't care if you have to YouTube it a day later.
There is a corporate machine out there.
Last election and the one before it was just mumbled about and mostly looked at as tall tale to most.
now if you read the NYTimes or anything other than Fox News or cnn these names and super pacs are realities.
I could ramble on this all day but there is a guy with a lot more knowledge and much better worded than I who wants that to change.
I don't know the language of this stuff there is a senator who does and has for a long time.
I'm not saying he's a saviour. Most the work will have to come from ordinary folk.
Listen to what he says and if we decide to continue to live in our ignorance than count me out.
I know a lot of people would like to be ignorant to politics.
i wish we could be a bunch of small countries and agree to disagree.
Watch the debate. Then let's talk. Seriously we gotta start talking sooner or later.
The world is changing. We must adapt. The age of convience is ending whether you like it or not.

I've been working on a 3 song demo to be released by Halloween with my friend, Tim Craft. I've got a rough demo of the first song.
Some of the words and melodies are still being worked out. So the question is.. Should I post it now or do you guys wanna wait and here a more polished product?
These leaves never got to fully yellow. Brown and to the ground.
I met the guy who did this art. He told me he is no longer an artist. He sells weed treats to dispensaries. He also enjoys ballet.
I've found many a good books here. Kinda bummed to see it abandoned.
Depave. Across the street they are building numerous high rise condos.
Drip. Drop. Leaf.
Colors and rain.
I don't this kid. He just wandered into my picture.
So many colors.
i live in the united states of america.
i'd like to think i live in a small republic called Cascadia.
i actually don't know the literal interpretation of republic.
anyway.. i like the idea of a group of folk gathered under the ideals of living in harmony and protecting the forest and rivers.
but i do not. i live in the united states of america.
run by a corporate machine.
not the liberty of which she sings.
there's crazy drought in the western united states.
the east coast is getting dumped on with rain. and snow.

Last night I met a guy named Tony Rose. Actually I met him one time before. At the same bar, Nobby's. The time before I acquired a free slider from said fellow.
Tony Rose is from New Orleans... San Fransisco? Let's keep it vague. He had a similar look and persona to Father John Misty. Loud personality and great clothing style on both occasions. He played some sick saxy.
I also met a guy named Reese. He was in his 40's. We talked about cigarette smoking, music, insanity, and life... to name a few things.
Tony Rose showed me an awesome song by Louis Armstrong called Black and Blue.
I'll leave you guys with that.
Year: 1965
"I'm hurt inside, but that don't help my case
Cause I can't hide what is on my face
How will it end? Ain't got a friend
My only sin is in my skin
What did I do to be so black and blue?"
