  1. The act of capturing a moment in a photograph is a difficult task. Though it is very much worth the trying.
  2. I went to the coast earlier this week with my friend Kelsey and a couple other newly made friends.
  3. My eyes have been ever so itchy. Mostly because of sinuses but also because my contacts have about bit the dust. They are much better today though!
  4. Yesterday was much too warm, Portland. Can we hold off on the intense heat a few more months?
  5. I'm still looking to lock down a new job.
  6. Not working all the time has felt damn good. I've had lots of time to focus on art. Lots of coloring in the happening.

Stuff and Things! Try to follow me.. my attention span is drifting to and fro more so than I'd like it to at the moment but as long as I keep typing it'll all spill out.

You should know Tom Waits is buzzing in my ears, I'm in a coffee shop down by PSU, it's grey and drizzly, the trees are sprouting green, and all the coffee shop voices bubbling over the music in my ears make my head spin in the direction of every happening.

There's a lot moving around me; that's what I'm trying to say. So much life! So many happenings!

Things I did in no particular order:

  • I drank coffee.
  • I woke up and got out of bed before 9am and didn't have work today.
  • Josh and I finalized the order for the first batch of Sleepwalking shirts.
  • I made eggs and yummy toast.
  • My book was officially published and is live on the world wide interwebs.
  • I bought a pair of glittens (glove/mittens). They are made of alpaca wool.
  • i bought marshmallows and stamps amongst other random things.
  • I got a new nose ring. Nothing fancy but it doesn't have the ball thing. Yay!
  • I wandered. I wandered a lot.
  • I saw the most astonishing colors as the sun set. It's one of those moments you want to share with everyone but don't think they would get why you're losing your wits.
  • I bought a new sketch pad.
  • I drank more coffee.
  • I did a lot of thinking about things and stuff. I need to write more of this down, but I didn't want to quit moving. It was cold and there was too much to be seeing.
  • I saw Joel and Cass. They are splendid people with a very vocal cat. Kind of like Smoggie Catt but more sass. Kind of like Denver Kitty.
  • Today was a beautiful day.
  • I am still anxiously awaiting the return of the rain.
  • I drew pictures.
  • I listened to music.
  • I lived and contemplated the act of living.
  • Today I was once again thankful to live in the Pacific Northwest corner of planet Earth where everywhere I look is magic.
  • Now I will let my imagination wander to the music of Muse.

My Book! It's Published!

Aaaaah!!! Remember that book I’ve been talking about writing? It’s published!

So yeah! It’s a thing! Aaaah!!

There are many places you can buy it!

  • On my publisher’s website
  • On Amazon! (Where you can/should leave reviews!)

On my site!

Yeah from the blog you’re reading right now!

I get more money that way.

Of course that’s the only reason I’m doing this is to be rich like R.L. Stine. Duh!

Or you can go into any bookstore and ask them to order it! That is also an option!

It should be noted I won’t have my own physical copies on my person to mail/hand out until next week sometime.

You can still place an order on here if you’d like at any time.

Follow all that? I think my brain did.

Thank you to everyone: Paige, Cody, Lia who made this possible.

That really means a lot to me. The End.

A Poem Of Sorts

I find things on the ground all the time in my wanderings. Some I share with the interwebs; most just go glued in my notebooks for sharing with my friends.

It's really awesome the things you will find if you just keep your eyes and ears open.

The other day I found another abandoned and destroyed book.

I ripped out a random page and cut it in a half.

My friend Jackie Jones and I endeavored to make poems from the words in our respected paragraphs. This is the outcome of said endeavor.

I call it: "little pieces".

New Tattoos

I got two new tattoos in honor of my little brother, Dalton who passed away last week.

The first is Scarecrow Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas.  I have always told myself that if something happened to my kid brother that I would get something from this movie because it's our favorite movie and it was released the year he was born; 1993.

When Dalton lived with my Grandma Walton as a child it was the only thing that would calm him down enough to put him to sleep.

The second tattoo is a symbol that Dalton drew on everything. It was his signature. It meant "Goldfire" which was he told me he wanted to be his rapper name and just another name he felt represented him.

If you look at it upright it definitely looks like a person. His best friend Megan said he once said "It means nothing and everything all at once.". That's my Dalton. I get it dude.

Thanks to Stefan Wuttke at Ink Works for taking the time to get me out away from the craziness of life for a little bit and giving me a proper memorial to an awesome dude, Dalton "Goldfire" Stout.
