music

today is tuesday

I had a little cold and it hit me hard. congested and stuck in bed for longer than I’d like to have been.

today i successfully got out of the bed, showered, organized home and a little more.

life is strange and it gets stranger.

I recently finished the series “True Detective”.

Season one: perfect. fucking Matthew Mcnakhkhdgklhdalgj making a believer out of me.

season two: bleh. i just can’t take Vince Vaughn seriously as an actor. haha

season three: absolutely adorable. i have a soft spot for a story with someone experiencing schizophrenia or dementia.

season four: loved it!

I listened to an album by Malibu Ken (self titled) recently that hit me hard while I was in my art and herb hour last tuesday night. I highly recommend it. Hip hop isn’t always my thing but when it hits right it hits, right?

It’s about time for a grocery store run so I’m going to be the laptop down.

be free. stay free. always.

New Week / New Tracks

I uploaded a new set of songs titled “Radikali Transmissions”.

Hope you’ll give them a listen and let me know your thoughts.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, and Andy Summers. Portland winters makes their music quite the perfect soundtrack for my wandering mind.

Also recently finished watching all five seasons of the scifi “Babylon 5” so it definitely has some of them vibes.

Time to write a grocery list and hopefully art a little bit between making dinner and cleaning up my bedroom.

Be Free Ya’ll!

New Tracks / New Year

I hope everyone finds more peace and stability this coming year.

Be the peace you want to see in the world.

Make eye contact with someone you don’t know. Smile. Wave. It’ll be okay.

We are stronger when we allow ourselves to have grace with those who see the world differently without making devils of one another.

There are a few thoughts of mine this Sunday.

Here are some new tracks I recently uploaded. Enjoy!

October

I’ve been slacking on the blogging again.

Not that there is any short of happenings.

The fall colors in Portland, Oregon are absolutely stunning.

I’ve been recording more tracks in Logic Pro and learning how to adjust volumes accordingly for that format.

Still making coffee at Anna Bannanas four days a week. Painting in between.

Making home more homely.

Practicing making more healthy routines is a constant thing.

My 35th birthday is two days away.

Started reading the Mahabharata again. It was gifted to me by my good friend, Kshitij Kumar some time back and I never got through it the first time so making use of the rainy days and reading it to the end this time.

I’ll share some fall pictures later this evening when I am more focused.

I’ve been hearing a lot of music I have never heard before. Thank you Darci and Amando specifically.

Thank you to everyone for their help and support. Large and small. I am grateful for it all.

Fragmented Realities (Rambles of a Madman)

I have been working on making this “poetry” book a reality for almost 4 years now.

I began writing the words and drawing the images between 2016 and 2017 during a very dark and yet enlightening moment of my life. There is a lot to be learned from darkness. There is a lot to learn from the light. It takes all of it to make us a whole.

I believe it is the bridge between the zzzmoments I draw almost constantly and the songs I sing out at rock n roll shows. There is a bridge between symblols and words/language and it is a magical realm to wander into.

I printed 33 copies because I find 33 a magical number and I am 33 years old at the moment.

I am selling them for $30 each and as of this blog post 7 copies have found homes. Limited originals from the book are also available for $50 to anyone interested. (I will post more on that later.)

If you are interested in a copy they will be available when I will be singing and making noise this Friday at No Fun Bar (9pm) and this Sunday at Ranger Station (7pm).

If you do not live in town, comment below, send me an email, reach out to me on social media and we’ll make it work.

I will eventually be selling the books and the original art from the “Fragmented Realities” via my interweb store.

Truthfully it’s been so long since I utilized the .com store that I am in the midst of working out some kinks/links to make it work properly.

I am excited this story. I am excited to play a couple shows this weekend!!

i love entertaining! i love singing! i love creating!

There are many words that I would to say right now.

I need close up this blog post because I need a shower. I need to clean up home. My friend Cody Trespalacios that I have known since 3rd grade is coming to town tomorrow. It will be his first time in Oregon.

Okay my legs are bouncing and it’s hard to focus so it’s time to brew more coffee and shower.

Talk to you soonly fellow earthlings!

coffee is good. rock n roll is better.

i cleaned up a whole lot. deep scrubbing in the kitchen and all. enough so that it smelt like bleach.

it’s been a sunny day. it’s still very chilly but that’s okay.

i had an americano from the rocking frog and sat on the front porch in a sun spot and read more of the Janis Joplin biography that I started last week. Thank you for the coffee Nol!

I started a french press at home. I practiced my restraint. I did not drink the whole thing.

The last time I finished the press I was too hyped up to finish any sensible task.

I got my synth set up and started jamming a little bit. I find it easier to be creative when my space is organized.

I have two shows coming up!

Friday, February 28th, at No Fun Bar

Sunday, March 1st, at Ranger Station

I have some exciting news to share about the upcoming shows and I will do so when I have photos to go along with those words.

I am grateful for opportunities coming up to share my rock n roll songs. I am working to play more than i have ever before this year. I hope you’ll be a part of it.

Monday day way

It’s been a lovely rainy day in Portland, Oregon.

I took a long walk in the rain to get coffee a few hours ago with Neutral Milk Hotel, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea and Pink Floyd, Dark Side of The Moon in my ears. They fit this weather quite well.

I saw my friend Jay Ringer play musics last nite. What an incredible human being. He plays the keys and the trumpet at the same time. I couldn’t focus to film it because I was far too entranced. Keep doing what you do, Jay. It’s incredibly inspiring.

The night sky is on the horizon. I need to clean up my homebase for a little bit.

Goodbye for now internets.

new music video

IMG_20191114_042152_023.jpg

I was chased around the planet and then taken back to the dark side of the moon and played some music in Icarus Flamingo’s spaceship.

It’s an epic of a music video // mini movie. It’s a two part video.

The first part being Icarus’s tunes and the second part being a live set of my own.

Thank you for the adventure Icarus! I’m looking forward to our future adventures.

Check out Icarus’s youtube page. There are more bands to check out on his page.

Subscribe to keep up with his doings.

This thing has only just begun.

Making art with friends is what it’s all about.

I appreciate what you’re doing Icarus.

Never stop.

You can tell them you read it here first.

lifffe and stuff as of lately

I’m playing singing songs and making noise at The Nest Lounge this Wednesday night from 10 to 10:30pm. If you are in the area I’d love to see you there. Yes… you.

The last two weeks have been a constant go go with very little repose. It all started simmering down yesterday evening. Ashley and I started organizing and cleaning our homebase or as we call it, the foggy lantern.

It’s been fun making a home with Ashley Klump. There is healthy amount of movement of things and it feels a little more hohmy every little shift. I have never really felt this feel before. I guess I’ve never meant a person like Ashley Klump before eyether.

Well I intended to ramble more but I got distracted cleaning out my email of unreads. There is about 6 thousand of them which means a refresh of unsubscribing to things i thought I would read.

I’m looking for more shows to open up for people. I need to walk to the grocery store a few blocks away.

that is all for now fellow earthlings.

be free.

just like a damn taco

here today. keeping the .com paid.

leaving tomorrow. getting out of portland. going on a road trip with Ashley to Idaho.

her family has a cabin near the Wyoming border. I’m going through parts of this country I haven’t seen much of so expect some photos.

I’m excited to wander out. I love the open roads.

I’ve been listening to the song, Bad Girl by Devendra Banhart a lot this last week. Also same artist, the song, Taking a Page. I recommend both.

I still have my shirts I made for my show last week. I have 4 of the 5. I’ll post them on the blog soonly.

Also the art that I created during the set is now framed and for sale at my coffeehouse, Anna Bannana’s NW 21st.

I am currently uploading a video my friend, Ian, took from my rock n roll show last week at The Waypost.

That was a really fun show. I am very grateful to everyone who came out and was a part of the experience.

Thank you Tiny Ghost Club and Shaylee (Elle) for having on the show.

It’s become rainy and cool again in Portland, Oregon. It helps with my creative pursuits around the house.

There is nothing like the feeling of coffee and arting while it’s rainy outside.

I’m going to quit typing and check on the youtube video upload.

here i am

there they are

as they always were.

light distorts it

forget about it if you can

i pay attention to details

it was like this and now it’s like this

time and space. 2 realms. always present. always slightly different.

this time it’s James. next time it’s Gabriel.

it’s a different magazine description. a different season. a slightly different hook.

did i create or was i created for this moment?

it seems selfish to assume such an ability

how long can a fox graze among sheep until he begins to lick his teeth?

the owls are not what they seem

and we’ve know this since the 1990’s

who are the owls? what do they see?

the first time i left the planet

i saw unmentionable things

if i want to talk it out

it all sounds crazy

and if you know what i mean

you know why we sing

and why this whole god damned thing

is entertaining to me

Open Mic Set from The Ranger Station. Recorded by Times Infinity Media.

I’ve been making lots of coffee.

It’s a monday through friday kinda job at the moment.

working on lots of art, too. I’ve been working on a big commission piece for someone in Florida.

Pictures coming soon.

singing songs. more and more. that’s the truest joy I find in this life.

i like where i am even if at times it feels kinda lonely at times.

I have Smoggie Catt and magic.

Thank you.

All of you.

You know who you are.

Eye.

See it all.

Thank you for being here.

We couldn’t do it without

Thanks for Giving

I fell asleep stoned silly last night, listening to the rain, letting the wind blow drip drops through the window as I lay below listening to one of my favorite artist, World's End Girlfriend.

I got out of bed about 1pm, binge drinking coffee and feeling experimental. I pulled out the synth and garageband and started making noise. Below is the final, only recorded proof of that moment that has been the last couple hours or so. I don't know much about time.

I may add more tracks to this one after said shower. I also need to wander outside because I still have not done that today.

I should shower and munch on something. I am going to my friend Alan Page's this evening and a shower would give me some focus.

The last year has been one of the most uncertain of my entire life up until now and I've been very contemplative and reflective on truly what I am thankful/grateful for.

I normally don't pay this holiday of Thanksgiving much mind, but I am taking time to really contemplative the why's of whom and what I am grateful for all week.

To those that have been part of the past year, I thank you all for the good, the bad, and damn right ugly because in the past year I have remembered and discovered a lot more than I will type out in this moment. Let the music do the rest.

Be Free Fellow Earthlings,

3 Songs To Sing Along

I just uploaded 3 songs I've been working on. I don't know exactly what that wordage means, but I just typed it so I'm going to ramble on it.

The lyrics you will hear if you listen are lyrics I sing to myself while I'm working, while I wander, on my way to the grocery store, aloud to my friends, etc.

They are a small part of what I want to use for  a live show. I've done some open mic events in recent months, but I'm ready for a real set.

The music part of the songs listed will vary depending on the set, but I'm happy with how well they fit with the words.

I'm losing my attention span.

I need to drink more coffee.

I hope you enjoy what you hear and find yourself singing them in your day to day routines.
